Product Overview

Ola Dubh Case x6
{pronounced ‘ola-doo’ and Gaelic for ‘black oil.’}.

Ola Dubh 12 pours black with a modest spattered head that reduces slowly, leaving behind textbook lacing.

Ola Dubh is the result of resting our classic black ale, Old Engine Oil, in whisky casks from the award-winning Orkney distillery, Highland Park.

‘A real labour of love. Everything about this beer is extreme!. By aging the beer in whisky barrels for at least six months, flavours from the wood enter the beer to produce Ola Dubh.’
– Stuart Cail, Master Brewer

Ola Dubh was the first ale to be matured in whisky casks from a famed distillery with traceable casks and numbered bottles.

Hops: East Kent Goldings,Fuggles, Galena.
Flavours of smokysweet malts, roasted peat, coffee beans and a well rounded and bitter finish. Overall this is a rather exotic brew with a defined barrel influence.

About the Brewery

When we started making brilliant, innovative beer back in 1983, the craft beer thing was just a glint in Harvie’s eye. Now, more than 30 years later, we are proud to be the forefathers of this movement to better beer.

A proud, family-run business, our Chairmen Sandy Orr and Donald MacDonald champion a dedication to the craft that produces award-winning, natural brews made using the finest ingredients and purest Scottish water from the heart of the untamed Scottish Highlands.

We are very proud to be one of the most awarded breweries in the UK. We have always focused on the quality of our beer and with this we have built strong relationships with leading outlets across the UK and a growing band of fans across the world
