A local woman couldn't lead her livestock across the fast flowing River Lune. She pleaded for help - and the Devil himself answered her call.
He would build the bridge on one condition; once complete, the first soul who crossed would be his for eternity.
As soon as the bridge was finished, the woman threw a bun to the other side; her small dog sprinted across to retrieve it.
Thus the woman outwitted the Devil.
Taste: Citrus-like and slightly floral; finishing with bitter notes for a clean, crisp taste.

About the Brewery
Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery Co Ltd was established February 2009. The company owners all share a passion for real ale and were keen to re-establish a local brewery. Kirkby Lonsdale has had brewing at its heart for centuries until the trade had all but died out.
After many months of planning and preperation, the brewery was finally installed by Porter Brewing Company and is situated at the Old Station Yard, Kirkby Lonsdale. Since opening, we have endeavoured to get our beer to reach all across the North of England and have opened our own beer barn in the heart of the town.
The name of the first beer produced, “Ruskins”, comes from the iconic Ruskin’s View which Turner famously painted in 1816. In keeping with the local theme all of the brewery pump clips are branded with an image of the local landmark, Devils Bridge, in the centre and all of our beer names have a link to the local area. We are a company with local values at heart and produce that has proven a hit with our customers. We love what we do and can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
